Rock & Pool
Inspired by the exploration of the relationship between Water and Earth where water carves an intriguing layered pattern into the solid rock, the shape of my light celebrates the simplification and purity of this natural form, gradually shaped by the void as much as by the solid.
Aligned with the Slow Design philosophy special attention has been paid to all aspects of the pendant production:
Materials:
Main component is acrylics. Once produced, acrylic is very sustainable and can be easily recycled. Also the pattern to laser cut the individual shapes has been produced to minimize the material waste.
Light bulb:
The choice of Starlight daylight LED light bulb with 30 000 hours of lifetime is highly efficient and sensitive to our environmental resources.
Assembly:
The pendant consists of 8 sheets of acrylics, 5 wire ropes, 5 clamps, 35 spacers, light fitting and a light bulb. Each part is produced separately, packed in a flat pack ready for an easy assembly by the customer at home or in commercial setting.
Variations:
Custom spacer length can be manufactured in different colours. Both the sheets and the spacers can have many colours and colour combination, or be produced from other materials. By removing the last smallest sheet this design can also be assembled to hang upside down.
Maintenance:
Easy to wash to remove dust.
